10th Legislative District Virginia House of Delegates Nick Clemente was born and raised in Northern Virginia. In elementary school, he was diagnosed with dyslexia. However, he was able to succeed through perseverance and determination, receiving his B.A. in Communications from Wittenberg University and his master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship from George Mason University.
Nick began working in politics while in college. Shortly after his college graduation, he joined Thompson Advisory Group, serving as Government Affairs Coordinator until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Nick worked as an Asset Manager at Comstock Companies. Since 2017, Nick has been a member of the Potomac Valley Officiating Association, primarily working youth basketball and softball games. He has served as the Membership Director for the Virginia chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors since 2018, helping many small businesses find ways to thrive in a struggling economy. Nick has also fought on behalf of small businesses during his service on the Leesburg Planning Commission.
Nick’s passion is solving problems, helping others believe in themselves, and achieving more through positive thinking, bridge-building, and goal-setting.
His own journey with dyslexia has taught him the importance of faith and family in overcoming challenges to make a positive difference in the world around us. These experiences, coupled with the struggles students currently face in our district, have inspired his run for the Virginia House of Delegates.
Nick currently lives in the town of Leesburg with his fiancée Juliann Berrios and their pets, Milo and Jerry.

Stonewall Magisterial District Board of Supervisor
Judith McCann-Slaughter was appointed to the Board of Supervisors as Interim Representative for the Stonewall District, to serve January 1, 2016 – November 8, 2016 at which time a special election was held. Ms. McCann-Slaughter was elected as Stonewall Representative at that time and again in the general election in November 2017. Her term ends December 31, 2021. Ms. McCann-Slaughter represents the Board as Chair of the Finance Committee and the Transportation Committee; as a member of the Joint Finance Committee; the Metropolitan Planning Organization; the Public Safety Committee; the Conservation Easement Authority; the Economic Development Authority; and the Regional Jail Board. Prior to her election to the Board, Ms. McCann-Slaughter served as a member of the Frederick County Finance Committee since March 2013 and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with various county departments and learning about the processes involved in local government. Ms. McCann-Slaughter is the fifth generation to live on her family’s century farm, which her great, great grandfather settled in 1872. She comes from a long line of family members involved in local and state government. She attended James Wood High School, Lord Fairfax Community College, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a MBA from Shenandoah University.

Blaine P. Dunn was elected to the Board of Supervisors in a special election on November 3, 2015. He was re-elected to the Board on November 7, 2017. His current term expires December 31, 2021. Mr. Dunn currently serves as a member of the Code and Ordinance Committee; the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission; and non-voting Liaison to the Fire and Rescue Association. Mr. Dunn is the owner and president of Dunn Financial Advisors, LLC. He holds a Certified Financial Planner designation and has been a national board member and Ethics Chair of the National Association of Personal Financial Planners. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from Clarkson College of Technology and a Masters of Arts degree in Diplomatic History from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to establishing Dunn Financial Advisors, LLC, he has been a technical rep, history teacher, and legislative director/staff for three members of congress and two federal agencies. He is married to Joy A. Dunn, a retired teacher, and has enjoyed living in Winchester since 1997.

Josh comes from a mid-western American family: his grandfather was a pastor, his father a Marine and career police officer. Josh is proud of America, a country like no other, which welcomed his mother from Mexico and his beautiful wife from India. He earned his Aerospace Engineering degree from Missouri S&T by working alternate semesters in Virginia, and settled here immediately after college. He has four children (three at home, one adult son away at college) of which he is immensely proud.
Josh moved his family to Frederick County for its conservative values, quality of life, and family-friendly environment. His only interest in politics is to help ensure these values are maintained. He wants to preserve low taxes and ensure small and effective government. He believes in full county transparency, so taxpayers can see where all their taxes are spent and exactly what their children are taught in schools.
